History, founder Can Akkaya
Can (pronounced like ‘Jon’) Akkaya was born in 1965 in Cologne/Germany. He was a professional Motorcycle road racer. He raced over a long career the German IDM, Dutch Open, Spanish Open, and the European Championship. He couldn’t turn his MotoGP wild card into action and retired from pro racing in the end of 1995.
In 2004 he started to write about racing. The release of the book ‘Racers-Story …25 Sekunden…’ was in 2005. The Racers-Story is since its release on Amazon/Germany in the top 10 bestseller list of racer books. Akkaya began to test motorcycles and write articles for German Motorcycle magazines, and worked as an Instructor for several track day organizer all over Europe. Can developed a program for a Swiss racing school in end of 2006, and lead the operations as the chief Instructor.
In November 2008 he immigrates to the United States, where he founded the Superbike-Coach Corp in May 2009. Until today, Akkaya trained 3,500 students, including Europe. Can designed a three stage wheelie-bar, which is in use in the Superbike-Coach ‘Wheelie Course’.
The Racers-Story will be translated in English language and published (2011) in the USA too under the title ‘…25 seconds…’ (we would appreciate a review in your magazine).
