Cornering Class 5/17/2026 Recap

Our Cornering class back on 5/17/2026 was great fun.

Our 30 students made quite some progress in these almost perfect weather conditions. As usual- Superbike-Coach photographer Dean Lonskey put a collage of pictures together until he has them all ready for a free of charge download to our students.

I just wrapped up Cornering School Day 2 with Coach Can Akkaya and the Superbike Coach team at Little 99 Raceway in Stockton, and holy crap — it was one of the best riding investments I’ve ever made. If Day 1 opened my eyes, Day 2 completely rewired how I ride. What Day 2 Delivered The curriculum built perfectly on Day 1 fundamentals and dove deep into: Overcoming rider anxiety — Coach gave practical mental tools that actually work under pressure. Counter-steering mastery — We took it way beyond the basics. Body positioning — Learning to get your butt halfway off the seat dynamically. Uber-steering (emergency obstacle avoidance at full lean) — A total game-changer for street survival. Little 99 is the perfect classroom for this. It’s a tight go-kart-style track full of medium- and low-speed corners that mimic twisty public roads. You get massive repetition in a super safe, controlled environment. No one’s hitting 120+ mph straights — it’s all about cornering precision, and that’s exactly what you need. The Coaching Style Coach Can is passionate, direct, and sometimes salty (in the best way). He doesn’t sugarcoat things because he genuinely wants you to improve and stay safe. He’ll call you out, make you laugh, push you out of your comfort zone, and celebrate your breakthroughs. The whole team creates an energetic, supportive atmosphere full of laughs and camaraderie. By the end of the day, chicken strips were gone on my tires, I was scraping pegs and toe sliders for the first time, and my confidence was through the roof. I felt way smoother and more in control. Who Should Take It? Whether you ride a sportbike, cruiser, adventure bike, or supermoto — this class meets you where you are. It’s not a typical track day; it’s focused, high-quality coaching with tons of track time, classroom sessions, and personalized feedback. I’ve taken other safety courses before, but nothing compares to Superbike Coach’s practical, racer-derived approach. Bottom Line If you’re serious about becoming a better, safer, and more confident rider, do not sleep on this. Day 2 was transformative — it turned riding from “just getting around” into a dynamic, exciting sport. I’m already signed up for more classes and planning to repeat Day 2 because there’s so much depth here. Huge thanks to Coach Can, the team, and Little 99 Raceway. Best money and time spent on two wheels in a long time. Highly, highly recommend — 10/10, will do again.
